How We Ship

We ship live invertebrates via FedEx Priority Overnight for the safety of the animals. We ship from California to the continental United States only. Shipments go out Monday through Wednesday so a package is never in transit over a weekend. We confirm your delivery date in advance and ask you to confirm that someone will be available to receive the package.

Shipping Rates

Live Arrival Guarantee

We guarantee live arrival on every animal shipped FedEx Priority Overnight, and we honor it even through carrier delays, carrier damage, or a lost package — provided the terms below are met:

• Someone must be available to receive the package on the delivery date (signature where required). A missed first delivery attempt voids the guarantee.
• Hold-for-pickup orders must be collected within 2 hours of availability.
• To make a DOA claim, contact us within 2 hours of delivery or pickup with a clear photo of the specimen (both sides, on a coin for scale), the same calendar day. Keep the specimen until we authorize disposal.
• Remedy is your choice: a refund of the animal's cost, store credit, or an identical replacement. We cover replacement shipping on paid animals (not freebies).
• The guarantee is void if no one is available to receive the package, a hold-for-pickup order isn't collected within 2 hours, the address is rerouted or changed in transit, or delivery is to a gated community the carrier cannot access (use pickup instead).

Sexing Guarantee

Any animal sold as a confirmed sex is guaranteed for 3 months or until its next molt.

Weather Policy

Live-animal shipping is weather-dependent. Shipping from California, our primary concern is heat. We ship to residential addresses when the delivery-day forecast low is at least 32°F and the high is at most 85°F; to a FedEx hold location we can ship as low as 25°F and as high as 100°F. Outside roughly 40–90°F we hold the order for pickup and notify you. We add heat or cold packs and insulated boxes as needed, and we pause shipping during extreme weather or if an animal is in or near a molt. We will never ship when conditions are unsafe for the animal.

• You must be 18 or older to order.
• We ship to the continental United States only. Some species may be restricted by state or local law; it is the buyer's responsibility to confirm legality in their area before ordering.
• All sales of live animals are final.

A Note on Safety

Many of the species we keep are docile and well-suited to keepers of all experience levels (for example Avicularia, Brachypelma, and Grammostola). Others are fast, defensive, or have medically significant venom and are intended for experienced keepers only. Each listing notes the recommended experience level — please choose responsibly. Tarantulas and other invertebrates are display animals, not pets to be handled, and any defensive behavior should be respected. By purchasing, you accept responsibility for the safe and appropriate keeping of these animals.
